Privacy Policy

This policy describes information used by the Donnie's Karaoke website and its optional browser push alerts. SMS alerts are retired and the singer form no longer collects phone numbers.

Information we collect

When you sign up to sing, the app stores your display name, requested song and artist, queue status, and a device or sign-in identifier. Your display name and song can appear in the public queue, on the venue's screens, and on singers' phones. Choose a display name you are comfortable sharing.

If you add a duet partner, their display name appears with yours on the show screens, in history and in turn alerts. Crowd reactions save only the latest emoji and its time for each phone's sign-in identifier in the show. The host can read these reaction records; other singers cannot.

Host accounts use an email address and account information to manage shows. The host's phone remote uses the same sign-in and stores private playback status and short-lived control commands.

Public karaoke nights and venue teams

A business can choose to publish its name, description, event dates and venue address in Find karaoke and on a public schedule page. Events start private. Publishing a date does not publish the business's billing information, team email addresses, singer queue or music catalog.

You can search by ZIP code without sharing your phone's location. If you choose Use my location, the location is used to find nearby events and is not saved as a visitor location history. ZIP locations are approximate. Directions opens Google Maps, which has its own privacy policy.

Business owners and managers can invite people by email to help manage a business or host a specific show. Invitation and access records are private to the people managing that business and the intended recipient. Night recaps are available privately to the business and its authorized hosts. A host can choose to download or share a recap image, which can include singer display names.

How information is used

Optional My nights account

You can join a show and use free reactions without creating a personal account. If you choose My nights, private favorites and followed schedule links are saved with that account. Personal singing history is optional and is available for 30 days; host show records are separate. Purchased reaction packs are not available in this version.

Local music and tips

Music files stay on the host's laptop or connected drive. A show can share song IDs, titles and artist names so singers can search its list. Optional microphone audio is processed locally and is not recorded or uploaded by this app. Tip buttons open the host's saved payment-service page. We do not receive the tip, payment details or a payment confirmation.

Closing an account stops access immediately. Stored records are retained for owner review rather than automatically permanently deleted. Contact us about access or deletion requests. See Cookies & browser storage for device storage and outside services.

Running the service

We use this information to run the singing queue, display show updates, manage host accounts, and send the karaoke notifications you request. Browser storage remembers preferences, your signups, and local media settings.

Service providers and previous text alerts

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Google Firebase processes app data and account information. SMS delivery is disabled. Twilio and carriers may retain records from any previous text service under their own policies.

Retention and choices

The host can clear any previous SMS contact records. Your display name and song may remain in the queue or show history until the host clears them.
